Napa Green Awarded $3 Million Grant to Fund Regenerative Farming

$2 million from the National Association of Conservation Districts will go directly to growers to support regenerative agriculture across Napa Valley

NAPA, CA, UNITED STATES, September 3, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Napa Green, a community-based climate action nonprofit dedicated to promoting sustainable wine production and regenerative agriculture, has been awarded a $3 million Advancing Markets for Producers (AMP) grant from the National Association of Conservation Districts (NACD). The grant directs $2 million directly to local growers to implement regenerative practices such as cover cropping, compost and biochar application, no-till farming, rotational grazing, and hedgerow planting.

Napa Green translates sustainability goals into daily actions through science-based standards built on more than 250 best management practices. At the core of this approach is a customized Carbon Farm Plan that creates a roadmap for sequestering carbon and implementing conservation practices that enhance soil, water, forests, and wildlife health.

In addition to supporting individual producers, Napa Green has a strong track record of driving broad environmental goals and community action. In 2025, Napa Green helped over 60 Regenerative Certified Vineyard Members in Napa County eliminate the use of glyphosate-based products as part of a broader push to eliminate all synthetic herbicides by the end of 2027. This was achieved through boots-on-the-ground support and expertise, providing practical resources and education, fostering a strong, connected community, and raising funds to help offset costs for growers.

Napa Green also provides regional program support for the One Block Challenge™, a global program by the Regenerative Viticulture Foundation (RVF), encouraging growers to pilot regenerative techniques on a single vineyard block for one year. This award from the NACD allows Napa Green to build on the momentum of these successes to expand their work with growers, strengthen vineyard ecosystems, and advance the goal of setting the global benchmark for responsible winegrowing.
